Role details
Your architectural decisions will underpin every land and property title transaction across New South Wales.
You'll sit within the Enterprise PMO and provide architectural guidance across a portfolio of business transformation projects. Day to day that means reviewing solution designs, defining roadmaps, recommending options from RFI through to prototype, and making sure technology investments line up with business strategy. You could have up to three direct reports depending on project load.
This is a regulated, compliance-heavy environment, and that shapes how you'll work. Decisions go through governance, legacy systems are part of the picture, and multiple concurrent projects mean you'll need to hold a clear view of interdependencies across the portfolio. The upside is that the work is genuinely consequential. The organisation has been modernising its platforms in recent years, and there's real architectural work to be done, not just rubber-stamping vendor proposals. AWS is the primary cloud platform, and the environment also spans Snowflake, Java, Identity and Access Management, and observability tooling.
You'll work closely with the ICT Enterprise Architect and the broader solution architecture team, which means your decisions get visibility at the top of the technology function. The organisation has a structured approach to architecture, so if you prefer a clear framework over ad hoc problem-solving, you'll feel at home here.
What You'll Do
- Define solution vision and requirements, evaluate options, and develop roadmaps for selected solutions across the EPMO portfolio.
- Review business context and technical designs to ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture standards and total cost of ownership expectations.
- Provide architectural governance and guidance to project teams from ideation through to implementation.
- Assess security protection technologies and influence architecture standards where existing guidelines need updating.
What You'll Need
- 10+ years in IT with at least 5 years in solution architecture roles within complex enterprise environments.
- Solid AWS and cloud architecture experience covering networks, infrastructure, and software integration patterns.
- Exposure to Snowflake, Java, IAM, and observability tooling is a strong advantage.
- Experience delivering in high-compliance or regulated environments, with a track record across the full software development lifecycle including business case development.
