Role details
Senior Project Manager, ICT Transitions and Technology Roadmap
Every property transaction registered in NSW runs through systems this team is actively modernising and bringing in-house.
You'll lead delivery across two concurrent workstreams: insourcing managed services from external suppliers and executing a Technology Roadmap that upgrades core business systems. Day-to-day that means running Transition Out and Transition In activities, managing vendors, coordinating ICT and operational teams, and keeping governance forums informed and unblocked.
This is a regulated environment, so delivery rigour matters. You'll be working inside an established EPMO with clear governance structures, reporting lines up to a Program Director, and cross-functional teams that include BAs, technical leads, and SMEs. The work sits across Azure-based infrastructure, API integration, identity and access management, data migration, and DevOps-aligned release practices. There's a lot to coordinate, and the interdependencies are real.
The role suits someone who's done this before in a similarly complex setting. Government moves at its own pace, and the compliance and documentation requirements are non-trivial. What you get in return is meaningful work with genuine public-sector consequence, a well-structured EPMO to work within, and delivery scope that's already funded and approved.
What You'll Do
- Lead Transition Out and Transition In of managed services, covering service handover, knowledge transfer, operational readiness and vendor coordination.
- Deliver Technology Roadmap projects involving system upgrades, cloud uplift, API integration and platform modernisation to agreed scope, schedule and budget.
- Manage project governance, risk registers, dependency tracking and benefits realisation reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Engage and manage vendors, ICT teams, business owners and governance forums including SteerCo and PCG to keep delivery on track.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years delivering ICT service transition and modernisation projects, including Transition Out/In of managed services in regulated environments.
- Hands-on experience across Azure, API-based integration, data migration, identity and access management, and DevOps-aligned release practices.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL service management practices alongside PMBOK, PRINCE2 or Agile delivery disciplines.
- PRINCE2, PMP or ITIL certification is desirable but won't disqualify you if you don't have it.
