Observability Engineer

Own the Dynatrace platform across enterprise cloud environments, leading observability strategy for complex hybrid infrastructure.

Role details

Own the Dynatrace platform across enterprise cloud environments, leading observability strategy for complex hybrid infrastructure.

You'll design and implement monitoring frameworks that span AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. You'll build dashboards, configure alerting policies, and establish SLO monitoring for critical services. Root cause analysis and incident response will be core to your role, working directly with engineering teams to reduce alert fatigue and improve system reliability.

Three days in the office gives you face time with the teams you're mentoring while keeping flexibility for deep work at home. You'll work with modern tooling including Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. The company invests in training and certifications, so you'll stay current with Dynatrace developments and cloud platform updates.

You'll act as the go-to expert for observability across the organisation. That means running workshops for developers, consulting with architecture teams, and shaping monitoring standards. There's real autonomy here to build the observability practice from the ground up. The team values SRE principles and you'll have support to implement Google SRE practices properly.

What You'll Do

  • Design and deploy Dynatrace monitoring across enterprise cloud and hybrid environments
  • Implement distributed tracing, RUM, synthetic monitoring, and session replay capabilities
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical system issues
  • Mentor engineering teams on observability best practices and SRE principles

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years in observability, monitoring, SRE, or DevOps engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on Dynatrace experience with platform administration and optimisation
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and containerised environments
  • Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for automation tasks

About the Company

They're building enterprise-grade technology solutions with a focus on reliability and performance. The team values proper engineering practices and invests in the right tools and training to get the job done well.
