our client Commerce contract role, deep in the platform stack, PHP through to GraphQL, Fastly, RabbitMQ and beyond.

You'll own the technical delivery on an our client Commerce Cloud platform, working across performance optimisation, API development, and third-party integrations. Day-to-day you'll be diagnosing bottlenecks, extending APIs, and keeping a complex e-commerce environment running cleanly. This is hands-on development work with real ownership of outcomes.

The stack is mature and well-specified. You'll be working with PHP, MySQL, KnockoutJS, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, REST, and Fastly as the CDN layer. Xdebug is in the toolkit and they expect you to know how to use it properly. This isn't a role where you're guessing at the environment on day one.

The team includes front-end developers, designers, and project managers, so you'll need to hold your own in those conversations. The work spans the full development cycle from configuration and customisation through to deployment. Documentation is taken seriously here, which means the codebase you inherit is actually readable.

What You'll Do

• Manage and optimise our client Commerce databases, identify performance bottlenecks, and resolve platform bugs and errors.
• Build, extend, and maintain GraphQL, REST, and SOAP APIs, including unit tests and quality assurance improvements.
• Integrate third-party systems including payment gateways, shipping providers, and external APIs with the Magento platform.
• Develop custom UI components in the our client Commerce Admin area and maintain documentation for code, configs, and customisations.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years as an our client Commerce developer, with our client Commerce Expert Developer or Architect certification.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, GIT, Composer, JavaScript, KnockoutJS, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, REST, and Fastly.
• Solid experience with Xdebug and performance optimisation techniques including caching mechanisms.
• Familiarity with front-end languages including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and experience with custom Admin UI development.
