Lead the Solution Architecture practice for a government transport agency managing 60-plus concurrent projects across its technology portfolio.
You'll sit at the intersection of executive strategy and delivery, translating business priorities into architecture roadmaps and solution designs. Day to day that means leading and developing a team of Solution Architects, governing design quality across a large project portfolio, and laying the groundwork for a formal Platform Architecture function.

The portfolio spans customer-facing products like Business Plates, dealer portals, digital forms and kiosks, alongside internal platforms and shared capabilities. You'll guide proofs of concept, oversee vendor evaluations through RFI and RFP processes, and establish the reusable patterns and standards that give the team consistency at scale. What You'll Do
- Lead, coach and develop the Solution Architect team, managing demand, capacity and pipeline across 60-plus concurrent projects.
- Provide architectural direction across delivery, resolving design decisions, dependencies and risks with business and technology teams.
- Contribute to annual strategy, investment planning and business cases through the Enterprise Governance Council.
- Own architecture governance, including peer review of solution artefacts, vendor assessments and procurement oversight.
What You'll Need
- Demonstrated experience in a Lead Solution Architect or senior architecture leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team of Solution Architects across a complex project portfolio.
- Experience contributing to strategic roadmaps, business cases and investment planning at an executive level.
- Exposure to architecture governance, design assurance and procurement processes including RFI, RFQ and RFP activities.
