Role details

Lead clinical AI and digital health transformation at one of Australia's most significant public hospital campuses, reporting directly to the Chief Transformation Officer.

You'll sit at the centre of a dedicated Transformation Office, leading strategy and delivery across clinical AI, the Clinical Informatics Centre, digitally enabled models of care, and health services research. You'll translate significant investment in digital technology into measurable improvements in patient outcomes, workforce experience and operational performance. The portfolio is broad, the mandate is real, and the work touches every part of the organisation.

This is a public health environment, so you'll work within the structures and pace that come with that. What you get in return is genuine scale, access to world-leading clinical and research expertise in the Parkville Precinct, and a role that sits at the very top of the digital health agenda. Salary packaging of up to $12,000 tax-free reduces your effective tax burden meaningfully, and leave entitlements are generous, including additional annual leave and a monthly accrued day off for eligible full-time staff.

The organisation is values-led in a way that's reflected in how decisions get made, not just written on a wall. You'll work across clinical, digital, quality, research and operational teams, building partnerships that span the Chief Quality Officer portfolio, the Strategic Automation and Digital Experience team, and frontline clinical and research groups. The breadth of those relationships is part of what makes this role genuinely senior.

What You'll Do

  • Lead organisation-wide digital transformation initiatives, connecting clinical AI strategy to safe, sustainable implementation across the hospital.
  • Provide strategic direction for the Clinical Informatics Centre and manage key industry partnerships that support digital health innovation.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships across clinical, operational, research and quality portfolios to align priorities and deliver shared outcomes.
  • Apply implementation science, evaluation and improvement methodologies to measure and demonstrate the impact of digital investment.

What You'll Need

  • Senior leadership experience in digital health, clinical transformation, clinical informatics or health service innovation, with a clear track record of delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical AI, health data systems and digitally enabled models of care, with experience taking innovation from concept to practice.
  • Familiarity with research, evaluation or improvement frameworks applied in a health services context.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, health informatics, digital health, health services research, business or management.

About the Company

They're one of Australia's leading public hospitals, located in Melbourne's Parkville Precinct alongside major research institutes and universities. The organisation runs a dedicated Transformation Office and has made significant, sustained investment in digital health, clinical AI and data-driven care improvement.
