AI Engineer

Computer vision production work today, agentic AI and LLM integration on the roadmap for tomorrow.

Role details

Computer vision production work today, agentic AI and LLM integration on the roadmap for tomorrow.

You'll work across an established computer vision and cloud platform built in C and C++, maintaining and improving production software while helping the team expand into Generative AI and agentic systems. Day to day that means AWS infrastructure, DevOps practices, and getting hands-on with emerging AI integration technologies including Model Context Protocol and LLM-based tooling.

The team works remotely around four days a week, and location is flexible. Brisbane is preferred but genuinely negotiable for the right person. You're joining an established engineering team rather than a startup with no foundations, so the codebase and cloud infrastructure are already in production and well-considered.

The timing here is worth noting. The business is early in its expansion into agentic AI and LLMs, which means you'll have real input into how those technologies get incorporated into existing products and future platforms. You won't be handed a finished AI strategy to execute. You'll help shape it. If you've been wanting to move beyond pure computer vision work and get more involved in the Generative AI space, this is a practical way to do that without leaving your C/C++ and cloud engineering background behind.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and improve computer vision and AI-driven applications in production C and C++ environments
  • Work across AWS cloud infrastructure, virtualised environments and modern DevOps tooling
  • Integrate Generative AI, LLM and agentic AI capabilities into an existing technology platform
  • Contribute to the technical direction and evolving AI product roadmap alongside the broader engineering team

What You'll Need

  • Commercial experience in computer vision and/or AI engineering
  • Strong programming skills in C and/or C++
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud or DevOps engineering practices
  • Interest in or working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs or agentic systems, with MCP experience a bonus

About the Company

They're an established technology business with a production platform built on computer vision and cloud infrastructure. The team is primarily Brisbane-based and now expanding its AI capabilities, with a focus on integrating agentic AI and LLMs into existing and future products.
